4.6l in a 350i?
Discussion
If it's a factory 4.6 then it probably carries the Landrover engine code, see Rimmer Brothers website for a list (it'll start something like 47A). If it's been bored out from a smaller capacity (unusual) then you'd need to see bore and stroke dimensions (as in, physically measure them,not take someone's word for it
)
LSD wasn't standard and is rarely found on 350is.

This question comes up from time to time - yes definitely start from the engine number. And I have heard of people having LSD on a 350i so it isn't cut and dried.
However I wonder if we can do it with an experiment? How about a pipe into the spark plug hole, sealed well, and seeding into a pipe filled with water.
Give it a revolution and the air should be pumped into the pipe corresponding to the volume of the cylinder. Then you measure pipe diameter and the height of the air. Multiply by 4 per revolution.
Assuming the valves are sealing well this should give a reasonable estimate - I think you should be able to tell the difference between 3.5 or 4 or 4.6.....
