how easy is it to sell on a Delilah? most of you will know what shes been through when ziga had her, I've replaced the bushes on the rear tie bars along with the long bolts that go through the hubs, its got a 2nd hand driveshaft fitted that has 2 new UJ's in it. the 4 speed box has been replaced with a type 9 5 speed with a brand new speedo cable. it has a 3 month old battery on it as well that i relocated to the boot so the size of the battery is now not a problem when it needs replacing. i have a figure in my head of what id like for her, but want advice from you all on what shes worth.

Sorry but these stories of buy - upgrade/fix - sell within a few months (or less than 2 years really) never cease to amaze me....

Good luck with the sale by the way.

Blimey - I don't know where you are buying your minis but I have a dealer in Shelford I drive past every day and they are pushing 3 to 6 grand for sorted old ones. Compare that with a wedge bangs per buck....

Still - each to their own!

bought mine for £350 in 2008, bills are approaching 8k now, said i wouldnt buy another old car and spend silly money on it! im aiming for 150bhp from my 1300 so it should be just as much fun as a wedge, plus it sticks to the road better than any wedge ever will wink

Well i have seen a few mini's roll at brands hatch many moons ago..Dont think its possible to roll a wedge!..
All i can say is..You got her for a good price so even if you put a few hundred on top she is definitely worth it..

amazingly this is - very cleverly uses princess auto box and all fits transverse without any bulkhead cutting!!

I've wanted this mini ever since I saw it - never seen a neater v8 mini

Sorry - this doesn't help the original post although I can see if you're a mini nut how a wedge wouldn't really cut it when you're used to a go cart.

Your asking quite a lot of those poor little front wheels and tyres they've got to steer, do most of the braking , and try and put down 150bhp to the road. biggrin

just bung a bit on to allow for haggling and see how it goes. You know what you paid quite recently, you know what you've spent on it, you know what you want for it, you've decided that you no longer want it; I don't see that you've got a problem really.

I'd agree, I'm sure some wedges (with tired suspension etc) might have bad road holding but my experience with them so far is that they stick like st to a blanket compared to most cars.

I can certainly take corners in the wedge at speeds I'd never dare in the Jag, and I think the Jag has pretty reasonable handling considering its size/weight. Thats why they (Jags) are sort after for banger racing built like tanks and nigh on impossible to roll.

I'm sure Delilah will find a longer term home soon and once any niggles (if any remain?) are sorted should make someone a very nice wedge indeed.

I do like the old school minis though, suprisingly roomy for such a small car, how they can call the current version a "mini" is beyond me I've seen smaller MPV/4x4's
