What lights should you see on your dash with ignition on but engine not running? I'm only seeing a no charge light (400se).

Thanks.

Oil warning too.

Handbrake if lifted, It is worth lifting the top off the brake reservoir to check the warning switch works (it tells you if you lose brake fluid).

Assume headlamps not on? No beam lamp then.

While we're on the subject anyone know what the middle lamp between the speedo and rev counter would be used for? On mine it's blanked off with some smoked perpex. Did hotwire cars have an ECU light - would it be here?

I thought that. Any idea where to look as mine doesn't come on.

I get battery light on the right and then the handbrake light on the left, oil pressure light immediately above that one.

Does that help ?

Could be - it's in that place on the 350i - 400SX has a flashing hazard switch so doesn't have a dash hazard indicator too. I shall have to dream up a use for the blank space ;^)

Not off me 4CU! Might be room for a digital AFR readout. Or maybe a shift warning light?

I think it's the cruise warning lamp on mine... but sure I looked at something (maybe the owner's manual?!) that showed a lamp in there... I can't recall if it was something specifically for foreign markets though (time for prayers, Sheriff approaching, kangaroo in road, passenger too heavy, that sort of thing).
I suppose seatbelt warning would have been a requirement in some parts of the world back in the 80s...

The bulb looks like it might be hard to get to, how do you get to it?

What about the other end? Were is the oil pressure switch?

Thanks.

I've put shift "traffic lights" in it, no idea why the cut out is there though, high beam would have made sense plus there are spares at both sides anyway
