Stuff for sale in the borders

.

TVR Tasmin 1985. 3.5ltr petrol. MOT till June 2014. Tax till nov 2013. 63,000 miles, 6 owners, extensive full service history. Work carried out recently: new adjustable shock absorbers, new starter and new roof. This car has been well looked after. Call 01450 377750 after 5.30pm Advert

I've been thinking of getting a new toy for a wee while, and considering an older TVR. I've never had any experience of one before but this one looks as good as any and is very local. Any advice?

You should get a reply or two here but it might be worth posting on the wedge forum. It might also be worth giving the regional TVRCC RO (contacyt details in Sprint or if you aren't a member you can still get contact details on the TVRCC website) a call and seeing if he/she knows the car or could give you a good localwedge contact.

Thanks for that Jim. Mods, are you able to move this to the wedge forum?

No comment on the car, would hate to say anything not knowing or seeing it.

But do you know anyone with a wedge that can run you around it to see what to look for?

Nothing wrong with any wedge if it is in good condition but then it depends on what you are prepared to do with spanners and frame of mind, e.g. minor niggles become the norm, my car the reversing lights do not work. Personally if I want trouble free I would be looking at the chassis first with particular attention to the outriggers, body for cracks etc (not the end of the world). Engine and running gear next then trim and so on.
