After having the Wedge back for about a month I was in another accident tonight!!!

Thankfully I'm ok and the car seems to be too...more or less.

I only know what happened from the accounts of the other people involved, but the gist of it is this:

I'm on the slip road to Whitemare Pool from the Felling Bypass. Sitting in stationary traffic in the left hand lane at the back of the queue, a new Mini a couple of car lengths behind in the right hand lane, a 3 series behind her. Coming up in the left hand lane is a new Renault Clio. He must have been going at a fair pace since when he save the queue he slammed on the brakes, lost traction, swerved into the right hand lane and into the back of the BMW. That sent the BMW into the back of the Mini who came straight into my driver's door. The front of the Clio was destroyed, the 3 series will be written off, the back of the Mini is pretty smashed and the front has a big dent from the wedge.

The Wegde? Not a scratch At least looking at it amongs the carnage it looked pristine. A slight chunk taken out of the rear bumper about the size of a 2 pound coin and a little crack in the paint/firbreglass on the wing in front of the door. I had the window down at the time and when I got back it won't go up since the window frame is bent. The door sags too. I was worried about outriggers, but the fibreglass sills aren't scratched, cracked or bent...I would have thought you'd have to damage them to inflict damage to the outrigger.

So, tomorrow morning I may take a drive up to HHC and get a quote. I'm hoping since it's just a sagging door, bent window frame and a tiny, tiny bit of bodywork they should be able to give a quote easilly within insurance valuation. I'd use RT again, but it's the hassle of sending it away again.

Anyway, it's nice to be alive and have a car that still works...I just wish people would stop crashing into me

Strewth just what none of us really want to be reading about.

Glad to hear your OK, and the wedge hopefully too - must have been a bit traumatic even so, just goes to show even when you take care yourself, in these wintery conditions theres no accounting for the rest of em!

Hope the door and bodywork is sorted quite quickly and your back on the road forthwith.

Bad luck or what, the main thing is your ok, sounds like the Wedge is not that bad too.

Glad you're ok, as for the wedge it's sounds not to serious and hope it will stay under the value of the insurance.

I'm on the road quite a lot and i sometimes think it's a battlefield whenever it gets a little bit wet on the road you will see some accident..

Had a near miss myself last time i went to Wales, just the classic left, right, left looking we dutch people do when i left the parking in the morning.

Good luck,
Bernard

Sorry to hear about the smash. Good thing is you're OK. I hope you don't get any problems with the insurance. From your description it sounds as though you could do the repairs yourself, if necessary. Good luck.

Not sure when this happenend but you might need to wait a week or so for any stress craacks to appear, as when I span the 350 I did not see the full extent of the damage untill about 3 weeks later when washing car - apart from the obvious corner bit missing !
