Hi ...I had a phone call from the manager at the Whitehorse Inn on saturday and due to low numbers its not worth their while setting up the BBQ out in the beer garden so we will have to order from the menu and be served from the kitchen...They are going to forward me a menu but i don't think that its going to be the said 12 per person now as this was only discounted for a number of 20+..Last year we had 39 people so it was viable.
It seems that numbers are dwindling for various reasons..Which makes me wonder if the fest would be worth continuing with next year?....
Im speaking with some different baseball cap suppliers as 10 squid for a cap is asking too much...Its just eating into the charity money so its not good...
Unfortunately Oliver Winterbottom cannot make this year due to a prior engagement and Peter Filby cannot make it now as he is on holiday that weekend..Going confirm with everyone else to clarify that they are still coming!...
Cheers...Ziga

Would be a huge shame if it doesn't happen again, but perhaps like all things..it needs to change in some ways to survive.
Having someone step up each year to organise is hard, and I take my hat off to you Mark..and to those whose efforts in the past got the Fest held.
Remembering back to the first Wedge Fest, it was just a big get together of people and owners with a passion for the marque, to kick tyres and chat TVR Wedges. Very much a simple meeting. Whilst it's great to get guests involved in the cars history, RR's and traders to come along, sometimes just the simple 'let's arrange a Wedge meet' is enough for some folk.
I'm not suggesting the way it is now is wrong, just that maybe going back to basics is what works.
Seeing how much effort you have put in Mark, and unfortunately being let down with some aspects is a shame. And I'm sure is quite stressful for you!
I'm sure (weather fingers crossed), this year's 10th Fest will be a cracker! I'm looking forward to it!

In some ways it has watered itself down to the basics anyway, Which isn't a bad thing..Im not massively out of pocket as most of it depended on numbers but it is what it is and I'm looking forward to it like i do every year..If i continue to organise it for next year then maybe a new venue is the order of the day...This has been spoken about before, Also there are other models of TVR that it could be combined with...There are ways of doing it so that retaining the single model aspect of it is preserved.
Perhaps combine it every two or so years...Keep the Wedgefest every year but with a change of scenery.
It hasn't been too stressful except when my life took a sudden U-turn..But hey thats life and its not about me...So we must shake our fist at the clouds as we want sunshine...
It is hard to get the date to suit everyone especially this year as there was less flexibility as far as dates were concerned, Apparently its the same for next year at Ettington so a new venue will be considered i think...Cheers...Not long now...

Looks like everything is on track for the fest - well done Zig - not long now.
Wah..I'd better get me skates on..
I might of managed to secure some different embroidered baseball caps that are still within the previous price which is good as it means the added kind donation of 1.81 per set will still happen.
Adam...Was there a DB meter?....And is the "TOW" rope at the chase?...Just gotta poke the eyes and sip the teas...
Cheers...Ziga

I have a dB meter if you still need one and will be in Greenwich early Sunday morning (London to Brighton run) if you'd like to borrow it now ready for the BBWF?

Hi Mark - I'm still planning to go - Griff engine permitting (arrived on a pallet yesterday).
SEAC sold and paid for although guy not collecting until end of next week (trying to persuade him to pick it up from the Fest...).
Shirt and cap paid for but will be a no for the RR ...
Well done for all you've done/doing.
Paul.
