I've always fancied restoring one after watching several of the lads on pistonheads and bought the 400se from Glasgow to restore but typical wyn's old 420 came up for sale and the maths worked out it would be cheaper in the long run to change cars which of course i did, well i have given wyn's car a good going over and it needs the following, the drivers footwell carpet and the boot rear trim that covers the rear lights are missing, wyn still has these and will forward them on, the front nearside indicator has a bad earth its held by a screw instead of being soldered, quick fix, it needs 2 new rear tyres £80 each, the paint job is still in excellent condition but the rear sill arch area has gravel rash this area is usually stone chipped but they left it off, the car has fully adjustable suspension and the platform are at there lowest setting making the car very low it looks great but as you know the silencer is hung below the floor level, so its had a hard life, my garage has a 10 degree ram and it catches so i have had to use wood to raise the rear as i drive into the garage, well i decided to take it to a power flow exhaust centre to see what could be done they removed the silencer and replaced it with straight through pipes in ss, looks very good but its way to loud, so it needs a new ss exhaust and the car raising back to standard height, i think the difference in price will cover the cost, if it was'nt for life throwing a big spanner in the works i would keep it, but who ever buys it is getting a bargain and hopefully one day i can buy it back from who ever buys it, thanks Mark.

And a rear bearing too, unless you have done this....?I felt it had lots of small jobs to do, as above, and this is why it felt it was unloved. Most of these jobs are just fettling, easy jobs for the person who loves their car.
Just IMHO.
