Oil/filter change
Discussion
Now, I've done many an oil/filter change, but never on a TVR before.
Thanks to the helpful advice on here, I have the correct oil and filter ready to go. My question is, is there anything I should know before starting?
How to prime the upside down filter and where is a safe place to jack are two questions which spring to mind......
Thanks.I

With standard wheels and standard ride height, you might not have to jack the car up, I can park mine with the wheels on a scaffold board and then reach the drain plug. Failing that, don't jack on the outriggers: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=123...
I fill up all the holes visible on the remote oil filter mounting, someone did tell me once which hole to fill, but I've forgotten.

I jack at the point where 4/5 chassis tubes meet underneath the bulkhead - you can slip a trolley jack in just behind the rear wheel. Drive onto a plank of wood if your jack won't fit under. For oil changes I jack the drivers site which tilts the car over slightly towards the drain plug.
I don't bother priming the filter it fills in about 10-15 seconds anyway. Much less messy that way.
