Well we rigged the 280i up to an external fuel system last week and got it started, good to know these things are as loud as people claim them to be!

Unfortunately it would appear the accumulator has perished, don't want to order anything without being sure what I need, so is the accumulator out of a Ford Capri or is it from something else?

Capri or Mk2 Granada as far as I'm aware. May also have been used on some BMWs/ Audis that had the same injection system.

Hi mate..Normally when they fail it causes starting issues, Especially when hot..You can by-pass them..They basically hold the fuel pressure when you turn off but by-passing it means it will take a few seconds to start..Give Steve at imi a call he has them in stock...Cheers..Ziga

They actually did away with them on the Capri although i think the grannies might of had them...

Cheers chaps new accumulator arrived yesterday.

Ended up ordering from a capri club website in the end as I needed a new thermostat aswell, but I've bookmarked your link for later zig!
