Evening chaps

As you've heard I'm picking up the 420SE tomorrow

After it's re-spray a couple of years back it never had any black stone chip protection applied in front of the rear wheel arch

I'm planning on using a rubberized paint (plasti-dip), which is also totally removable at any time vs just painting it black - check this out for the idea = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvkq-qyY9aY scroll to about 7mins 30secs for a demo

What I am looking for are styles of how this is applied on your cars? Looking around the fest there are quite a wide array of styles so wanted to review different options

I've not seen it done on a TVR and I'm sure it would be a bit of a pain in the Harris to do. But assuming the red paint is in good order. How about some Heli tape? A few of us were talking about it at the fest.

I use it on my carbon fibre road and mountain bikes to protect from stone chips. Various thickness available. And it's easy to replace when toast.

If the red paint needs touching up I would however go with the black stone chip as I like the way it looks on some of the 400se's I've seen.

It's a rubberised paint that is not permanent, you can peel it off but its spray on. Quite clever stuff

So just looking for styles, then its just a case of mask up and spray on

I sold the car to Wyn, I brought it off a guy who had owned it for years & stored it for most of those. I've seen original photos when this car was new & the rear arch paint protecter was never applied.

The guy I brought it from had a seac spoiler that he was going to bolt on at some stage....... I did not take this as part of the sale......the old SE vs SEAC chestnut

I tried two tins, one of dinitrol and the other hammerite, both number rubber type stuff. Sprayed on a gash bit of metal. Now I cannot remember which one I went for but as it is on the 400, I had original to follow with the masking tape. The masked off more and old sheets over the wheel and sprayed. Resulte were quite good.

Good thing about the plasti dip stuff is its not permanent

Here you go ... Stone chip (very dark grey), to make it look black apply a little silicone wipe or 'back to black'
Masked the area off, rubbed down the top layer of paint and spray with Schultz stonechip

Look too narrow to me? What was the original? The way mine gets the pebble dash treatment it must have been chafed a good few times.

Ah. Mine is wider and that is getting a hammering on the width of it.
