You could remove both the fuel tanks to give some room and possibly fit a modification - but I'm not sure if you would have enough space to put a couple of small seats in before you come up against the rear chassis members...
Maybe call Richard Thorpe at RT Racing 0114 2817507 - he will tell you...

I think the tanks are the main problem. They sit much higher and further back than on a 2 seater. (I've only had experience of the 2.8 2-seater FHC and the 2.8 +2.)
I think there were some differences in the suspension at the back too but since yours is a V8 it would have a different set up anyway, I expect.
It would be a good idea to try out a local +2 if you can find one because they don't give as much space as you might think. The rear seats are strictly for kids (as the head and leg room is very restricted). It is already getting a bit cramped for my 5 year old girl in the back.
Cerbies offer quite a lot more space if you are in the market for one. You can even squeeze adults in - if you try hard!
Jim - Very sorry to hear about your ebay deal. Was there a problem with the car or was it a problem finding the right person?

Hi Nads,
I was a bit surprised at how low the auction went, as the week before one went for £1700 but thats life. I think the car is going to be cut up to be a racer now. I think it was the fact it was a +2 - everyone seemed to be weary of that.
Having the fuel tank so high up has a small but noticeable effect on the handling - mine had a single very large tank that was very difficult to fill ,and was prone to fuel starvation at below 1/2 tank in round-about-squeal-mode. To be fair you can only really get one small 5 year old in the back if you put the passenger seat all the way forward - and on mine at least the fuel tank was inside the car - this made me quite nervous, and took months of fettling to get rid of the fuel smell after a fill-up.
It was a great first TVR though !

Having wee people come along over recent years I looked at the feasibility of rear seats in the SEAC. I concluded it would be much work but do-able. I decided against cutting up a SEAC. The tank can be moved to the shelf in the boot by buying a rectangular alley one from Demon Tweaks. The rear GRP would then need to be cut away and a fabricated or GRP moulding inserted and this would need to be re-inforced. I concluded that a could of small GRP seats with foam inserts could have been fitted. Much work but IMHO do-able - It'd be good to see it done on a drop head.
