Spoiler, should I or not....?

My 400 has an SEAC rear spoiler on it, like this (but in red):



and I keep wondering if I should swap it for a "normal" one.

Does anyone have a need for an SEAC spoiler (in red)? Or should I keep it?

You'll have to repaint your boot lid if you take it off as unless you're happy with rubber grommets to hide where the leading edge holes were rather than filling. Grommets may also not be viable depending on if there's much paint damage where the spoiler risers contact.

The only problem with repainting I can see is that your car is red which can be a total bd to match once it's faded slightly! Not sure how viable it would be but you may be better off trying to get another boot lid and having it painted rather than potentially mess up your current boot. Sorry - bit doom and gloom!

Personally I think your car carries off the SEAC spoiler look well.

For me it's standard 400se spoiler every time. I'm not keen on the SEAC rear spoilers. Saying that I was absolutely dribbling over a 450se today at the WMTVRCC meet. With a SEAC rear spoiler.

Lot of hassle to change it though.

I've been thinking about fitting a spoiler to my none spoilered 350i. Still not sure but I was amazed at how much they weigh when I had chance to look at one.

I prefer to see the SEAC spoiler on a SEAC. I understand this bit of kit actually got some proper testing for being useful rather than the 400 keep boot closed weight.


But each to their own and none of my business. Not sure I could put a SEAC spoiler on my 400.

Yup, a 400 spoiler on a 400 defo, but you can't knock the whale on a Seac, infact it would be odd to see a 400 spoiler on a Seac. I don't think I have seen that done unless anyone knows different,

But as ever, each to the Wedge own, if they were all the same we wouldn't be in such an exclusive club would we :@)

Each to their own, personally my series 2 350 would look soooo naked without a tail, they need something at the back to make them look as interesting as the front, me thinks.

a previous owner of my 420SE from back in the early nineties sent me the below, she used to have a SEAC spoiler

Ditto. Dont usually like the look of the big spoiler however somehow it looks right on this one.

Jeez what a great looking Wedge !! Glen you have ended up with a real monster there bud !! I think with or with out the SEAC wing your car looks good, but on a 400se I'd say with out !

I personally prefer it without but the old owner just told me he still has the old spoiler in his garage so may ask for it just incase I ever change my mind. Be nice to reunite anyhow :-)
