Gday all, I am slowly working through my issues and happy with how things are progressing with my wedge. I do have one issue I was hoping someone might have some advice on. I currently have my pop up lights popped up (happened when I flashed the light) but they wont go down and also there is no activity in the light department from the lenses (they do come on in the bumpers however). Before I start pulling stuff to bits, is there anything I can check or has anyone fitted new lighting to their wedge to get around some of the bugs. priority one is to get the lights working (so I can switch registration) and secondly making them go up and down. any help would be awesome..

First thing to check is in the wiring near the headlamps there are some 4-way connectors which get the full benefit of water and salt etc from the road, they can usually do with a cleanup. I usually stuff grease in them on reassembly.
You can get at them from underneath the front spoiler.

Check fuses, relays and flasher diode first
If nothing then reach underneath the pods and wiggle the wiring around, if the pods suddenly come to life then it's a simple wiring issue.
Check if the pods/lights are earthed below the pods to the lower light mounts - if so clean them up
Otherwise, disconnect the battery (so the pods don't close on your hands), lights out, clean up the two block connectors behind the lights.
At that point. If it still doesn't work. With the battery re-connected (BUT the block connectors disconnected!) get a multimeter out and test out the wiring when flipping the lights on.

thanks guys - I know when I bought the car the auto electrics was an issue.. I am not sure if I should bite the bullet and replace it all or just try and fix up what is broken.. It looks reasonably simple albeit time consuming.. but the devil is in the detail
Definitely fix what's there. Firstly, it'll be cheaper which will leave more money for other things (or the wife!! Still, if it keeps her happy!!). Secondly, it will teach you more about what works and what doesn't!Adi
