Driving to work the other day, down a stretch of dual carriageway I must have gone down maybe two thousand times or more, I floored it to overtake a hatchback and "Clever Trevor" said - oh no you don't! Round came the back quicker than a rat up a drainpipe, and it spat me out onto the grass verge.

Luckily I missed the car, the trees, the lamp posts and at first glanve all that was dented was my pride. Looking around the car the offside front was flat, but I pumped it up and it took pressure. Strange.

As soon as I moved the car to finish the last hundred yards to work there was a "pssst" and the steering felt floppy again, so after an abortive attempt with some tyreweld, I stuck on the emergency spare.

Looking at the wheel, here's the culprit:

Reaching back into my memory I vaguely remember driving over something in the road a few weeks earlier, just made a thunk but no visible damage. So - this ding was stored up ready to cause a sudden deflation.

Once the front wheel was flat, it lifted up the opposite rear and then booting it just caused it to go in circles.

So - I now have fresh rubber front and rear - one silver lining is that the crappy Nexen N2000's on the front are now gone, replaced by Proxes.

So that's the new boots. And the panties? Well - it was rather a brown trouser moment!

Oh dear! must have been a scary moment.

I have toyo cf2 on my car. £60 per corner and very decent grip.

My girlfriend spun the car a few weeks ago on diesel.... Wide corner, nothing to hit thankfully (early am). She stopped perfectly on the other side of the road, sheepishly restarted the car and continued in the direction she was facing as if she meant it laugh
