So I was in the post office picking up a parcel (more ebay stuff for the wedge) and overheard an old lady renewing her tax - "I'll only get 6 months because the car will be 25 years old at the end".... eh???

I tried asking the post office staff but didn't get a sensible answer, so tried trawling online - loads of matches but nothing substantial.

Can it be true - is VED going to be zero-rated for 25 year old cars? Or is this just another rumour circulating?

Nice idea but would they really jump it 15 years forward from the current 40 years?

I read somewhere it was being changed to pre-1982 cars but with no rolling exemption, so my 390SE still wouldn't qualify, then I gave up reading.

It's staying at 40 years, but now it will be rolling instead of fixed.
