Reverse lights
Discussion
The switch is a threaded bolt with a locknut, so it can be moved in or out and allow the correct degree of contact with the shift mechanism. Access is very difficult though - probably slightly easier from underneath. Maybe one of the connectors on the end of the switch has become detached.

Can't you go in from the top through the gater?JumboBeef said:

Yes but on the 350 you need to remove the box around the radio, the carpeted panel behind the seats, then the trim piece along the prop tunnel followed by the gaitor . The plunger switch is on the drivers side of the gearbox remote. Not as bad as it sounds but it's still awkward. If you jack the car up you can just see and just get to it from below . I''be had to replace mine in the past as the ball on the end got jammed, then kept having to adjust it as the lights flashed when going into 1st. Now it' s gone wrong again I've just removed the reversing light bulbs like the previous owner,JumboBeef said:
Thanks, different for a 400....?
Don't know about a 400 but a 420seac is easier as the dash stays as it is and there's no carpeted panel to remove., just two front and two rear screws holding the tunnel piece in place, then the gaitor. The hole in the fibreglass isn't that big though.Gassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
