No reserve too.

Be interesting to find out what us 'wedgers' have spent on our vehicles through ownership.

Possibly thousands ....

Yes it has, £5,500 wink

All sounds good but the lack of receipts sounds a bit odd....

Is the baby included too? hehe

Must be doing something wrong - our "babies" have cost us considerably more than £5,500 over the last 12 years and it only gets worse. Think we spent that on swimming lessons alone over the years. Bah humbug.

The Wedge however looks stunning and seems a bargain given the work down on it.

You must be spoiling them too much mate..When i was 2 years old i was sent down pit for an 18 hour day..Then when i came home after chipping out 6 tons of ore with my bare hands i had to cook my 7 brothers and 8 sisters dinner as well as me mum an dad..Then when i was 3 years old i was sent to work at the local steel mill as the pit closed due to flooding..(Had to swim 100 foot upwards to safety)..Luckily it was only 16 hour days at the mill but i had to smelt the ore..Cast and hammer 20ft steel beams and then stack them ..On my own!..Heres me in action..

..You can't see me as i had to pull the chains to tip the pot..

Thankfully one of my sisters learnt to cook as she was working at the local abattoir when she was 6 and was given off-cuts to bring home..Me mum didn't have a clue bless her.
Some people say we had a hard life but it never did me any harm..Although i haven't worked since i was 10 due to phycological issues..Kids today don't know they are born....wobble

Will be interesting to see what the market dictates for this - or whether the seller pulls it early.

Really makes some recent bargains look less of a bargain!

Dealer price would be £10k all day long

I have two box files and a ring binder full of service notes and receipts from me and the two previous owners going back to 1991 (when my car was 4 years old).
Last time I checked it totalled over £21,000.
The car cost £23,000.

My old banger has had 13.5K spent on it by a previous owner..(Most at Tower view racing)..I have spent about 2K since i have had it..But i have enjoyed nearly a whole year of essentially trouble free motoring..Not bad for a 27 year old.... smile

I learned early on in life that not everything that glitters is gold. This car does look good on the surface and it seems good money has been spent on it. I wouldn't mind buying it to use for a while even though it's not my favourite colour. Only, it's 150 miles away from me and would be a wasted long journey if it turns out to have a chasiss like an Aero Chocolate Bar. There is no mention of the chassis or history anywhere. I wonder if anyone on here is close by that can give it the once over and report back. I don't want to put anyone out, but it would be very useful. I could always give him a call I suppose and see what he has to say, but a visual inspection by someone who knows what they are looking at would give me more confidence. What say you guys?

I've spent less than £80 on repairs on my one in my ownership and have covered about 4,000 miles so far..... wink

I spoke to the seller this morning. No chassis work has been done to his knowledge, but there was an MOT advisory for some welding required although the seller couldn't recall what exactly.

I decided that it is likely the chassis will need some attention, but I may be wrong.

I would tend to agree on that because in the advert there is no mention about the state of the chassis which makes me very suspicious. (Suspicious Minds).
Neither is there any mention of history, backed by the statement that bills are not kept. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Well i have had my car 6 years now. Fell for the trap, bought it with my heart and not my head.
Had engine problems to start with. Then had bad advice to ditch the injection and go carbs. I was told it was the injection system at fault casuing the missfire!
Now i know it was a faulty fuel pump (expensive one i may add).

BUT - all thats behind and the car is starting to take shape.

New hood
Wheels refurbished
New carpet set
New exhaust
Refurbished engine (lots of extras)
And a very bad black paint job!
Megasquirt (just about fitted now)

And for the winter
New shocks
Complete new interior.

Watch it fail on the MOT come March

Happy miles 2015

Thack

Just an update. The way I understand it so far, this guy has been offered 8k by someone local, but because of his loyalty and conscience, he turned the guy down as he has already been offerd 8k by someone else on the phone who has not seen the car. It seems an orderly que is needed, as the price will soon be shooting up much higher. Yet his asking price is 8k on PH and the bid stands at 6k. Confused? I think I am! I would have been interested in this car, but now I'm not so sure.

Why confused? Its simple really, he wants 8k for the car and if the guy turns up Sunday with it he will take it away. Ebay only helps to identify cars for sale sometimes and many are ended early. Its not buy it now at 6K on ebay but open for bids.
If you are serious and want it badly then go and look today, take a deposit or a wedge of cash and try to guzzump the guys bidding 8K or test this guys loyalty.
He has spent a fortune on this car and it should make 8K if its that good and tidy underside too.

To tell you the truth, I'm willing to spend 10k on a well sorted Wedge. Ofcourse I like to be sure where my money is going with the backup of a good history and receipts. This guy doesn't believe in all that, and so I didn't even bother to call him. Then, there is his loyalty to potential buyers he hasn't even met. Yes, I am confused. Infact, I'm more than confused. So much so, that I think I might let this one go wink
