Elvis is back, and hopefully this time for good. I have fallen in love with this one. It ticks all the boxes for me. Colour, pedigree, sound, power, condition and number. What a car. I took it for a spin today and I didn't want to come back. The Mrs is lucky I didbiggrin Just take a look at this beauty.

Well spotted Jumbo. There are no pin stripes and no 400SE on the sills with pin striping and the spoiler is not the usual. However, I like the spoiler as the standard one is very hard to keep clean as it has an underneath and so on. This is just one whole piece with no ins and outs and I think it looks rather nice. I have a decision to make with the pin stripes as I want to put some on. Either I will put them on now, together with a pair of kick plates I've already ordered, or I will take it for a complete respray as there are a few imperfections in the paintwork and do the pin striping then. If I do the latter, it will be towards the summer and not right now as I think the weather right now is getting too damp. The inside of the car though is absolutely awesome I think. Take a look at this.

Looks as though you found and bought an original for which you were seeking, except maybe the rear boot spoiler.

No Tuscan then?!

Don't worry, the wedge sounds far better than a Tuscan anyway!

Tony if you want some nice gold pinstripe to set that off I have some 3M stuff, you can always peel it off later if you are set on a respray.

Now I think I looks better without...........I'm sorely tempted to take mine off, I'm just worried about leaving a sticky mark......

After my respray I didn't put the stripes on for a while so the paint would harden and it could go back for a final mop.

After the polish i ended up putting them back on but after a few weeks took them off again! I left the ones on the sill with the 400se decals but others off like this...

Hi. Adam, thanks for the offer and I may still take you up on it, but people are now saying it looks better without. Let me think about it for a few days and see how I feel. I also need to order some 400SE decals for the sills.

I disagree, but I didn't want to be rude about Matt's "nude" car!

Personal opinion: I think the wedge looks timeless........and pinstripes look very 70's.....

Wedges look good without, but I think of go faster pinstipes as more '80s than '70s, so I think suit a wedge really well.

We were dead posh. We had one of these, V reg on the very first day of V regs, 1st Aug 1979.

Note the pin stripe....
