Apologies if I have missed a thread on this but are these any good and anyone tried them?

More of a "Wild Turkey"...Than a grouse..You can get H4 halogens that are 50% brighter which might be better...HID apparently can ignite in different points of the bulb giving an inconsistent beam.
Maybe check the voltage and clean up all the contacts..Earths...Might make a difference...

Assuming your Wedge is an '86 or newer then these are the sort you should be looking at:

In order to avoid MOT issues I'd suggest these 1800lm versions (significantly brighter ones are available but imho are likely to be 'too' bright to avoid inadvertant blinding of other road users). A good quality 'normal' bulb is around 1200lm.

Thanks guys, I have already changed the sides to LED following a couple of the threads attached, didn't really want to bother with a conversion kit thingy me bob for the amount mine will get driven in the dark! and was after something in the headlights that are more white than yellow, so will probably look at just upgrading the standard type as some suggestions.

There's several things going on in that thread.
The twin function bulbs in the thread are too bright imho to avoid 'unwanted attention'.
I'm sure a lower powered twin function bulb could be found quite readily on ebay.
I maybe looking into this [Wedge specific] in more detail over Christmas.

5000k is a "less blue" colour. Tungsten halogen being about 3500k.
1800 lumens compares with a standard H4 which puts out 1100-1500 lumens so a little more but not extreme.
Looks worth a punt.
Another approach might be to put a yellow filter on the lens which will cut down the light and make it less blue.

Ah, colour temperature.You don't need yellow, you need CTO gel, which is orange. I know a lot about colour temperature......
5,600k is approximately day light colour on a sunny day.
