Hi all, my oil pressure sender unit is shot - and takes almost a minute before it eventually decides to wake up and record pressure. The oil warning light goes off instantly when the engine starts so I'm sure the issue is the sender unit - I have had it out and cleaned it, to no avail. The oil feed pipe to the unit is clear.

Looking at the new TVR Parts website they do list an early pre-serpentine unit, actually tagged for the Griffith, TVR part number N0009. It looks the same as my existing and the price at £38.47 plus VAT (TVR-CC discount) looks good compared to the £62 plus VAT from another TVR specialist.

Anyone have a clue as to whether this is the right unit to match our SW gauges?

Thanks.

Hi Keith I believe that I have a spare in the garage so don't get buying one.i happen to use a capillary as I find these to be more reliable and accurate .

When I was trying to replace mine I bought an early Grif one from a Racing Green with (I think) had the N0009 part number. It worked backwards as I believe it was the same as those designed for Smiths dials which work the other way around so on the Wedge dials they show max pressure when the engine is off. I tried buying one off e-bay and also Demon Tweeks but they didn't work either even though it was claimed ithey would. In the end I gave up but managed to fix the old one.

Ade would very much appreciate your offer. I'll private message you with details. Let me know what you want for it and I'll post you some cash. Thanks. Keith

Thanks for that. If Ade is happy for me to get his spare then hopefully I'm sorted. ML Performance do stock them but not cheap. I have bought stuff from the States before but on two occasions had issues and additional expense with customs so what appears to be cheap actually isn't by the time postage and hidden customs charges are added. Bitten twice so now a bit shy of overseas purchases.
