To take my Wedge to a place where they'll completely rebuild it so as I can go and collect it, as new, like the day it left the factory, only with updated useful modifications. whistle

Seriously though there are several things that need doing:-

1. Front end re spray to get rid of stone chips etc.
2. Fit new kick plates and decals.
3. Re coat veneer strips on doors.
4. Change engine oil and filter. ( when weather improves).
5. Polish car to high gloss shine.
5. Find a blonde for the passenger seat. (Optional). biggrin

That should complete it but from past experience by the time I complete these jobs, the list will get longer as other things start to go wrong.

Just in case you hadn't noticed "blond" is male, "blonde" is female.
Whatever, your orientation is your business, but just thought I would mention it teacherbiglaugh

My "to do" list is too bloody long and seems to be increasing by the day.

Having some well needed therapy in the garage today after a tough week following my dads unexpected death last Sunday.

Todays jobs include:

1. Stripping out and replacing worn wiring to starter motor solenoid.
2. Fit new oil pressure sender unit.
3. Fit hopefully fixed speedo cable.
4. Tidy up wiring underneath dash by relay board.
5. Change engine oil
6. Fit new oil filter
7. Change spark plugs
8. Give the Wedge a good clean.

Hi mate...As a rule there is just the post fuel filter, There should be a piece of gauze or a mesh type filter inside the swirl pot but from what i have seen they mostly either fall apart and rattle inside it or just vanish?....Im fitting an RT pre-filter as a precautionary, After all its cheaper than a pump...I was going to go for the bullet type but TBH i don't really want to be spending £70 on a pre-filter!...Cheers..Ziga

When I were a lad and went to school .. {delete half hour of rambling}...
I was taught .. {delete another 10 minutes}... with an 'e' at the end.

But I see that the latest definition in English is indeed genderless. Fair enough. Things change...

I can't speak for a SEAC but just like the 280i i find the 350i so useable in modern traffic, You still have to watch out for the idiots and egotesticle morons, At the moment my underside is covered in oil from a small leak in the gearbox so hopefully will be a barrier in the meantime for stopping the salt attacking my chassis..There are exposed parts that have rust on them but they are so oily that hopefully they will be okay...It would be amazing to be able to lift the body and address everything but lack of money..Space and the right tools forbids that for me I'm afraid but as long as she is on the road i will continue to use and enjoy my Wedge.....And of course swear to continue to fettle at what i can to maintain the usability of such a stunning affordable hand built British sports car....Cheers ...Ziga

HEY MODERATORS - please add a dinosaur smilie - looks like I'm going to need it more and more !!

My to do list -

1. Drive it more

2. Think about moving electrics, redoing wiring loom - in concert with
2a. widening battery tray by adding 'dent' in wing
2b. resiting ignition amp and windscreen washer.

3. get and fit new springs and shockers.
4. change SW guages - Tacho has a weird 'skip' in rev range, speedo is still mph

5. Possible new engine type
6. possible respray - the last repsray is actually peeling here and there, obviously a cheap one, but as it's at least 25 years old....

Hi Andy...Is both the side where the battery sits and the expansion bottle the same dimensions, I have seen a variant with 280i's..I ended up using an MX5 battery as they were small but powerful...The gap i had for Delilah's battery tapered in which was a right PITA...I also seem to remember moving my ignition amp module ...I stuck it down with "Black tac" rather than drilling holes...That stuff is like "Blue tac" but on steroids...

I also went for a custom washer bottle, The washer pump is bolted on to the inner N/S bulkhead just to the right in the pic....Cheers...Ziga
