This is why i love this forum...scratchchin...Mind you..There's always the "Charity money"...whistle....eek........laugh...(NEVER)....

Thanks Dave...It is a kind gesture but I'm use to running a Wedge on a shoestring ...They definitely last longer than Vee belts...biggrin

Hopefully i will have it sorted soon and i will post up what was done..Its nice also to know that there are people who are still passionate about the parts the supply for classic vehicles ..And not just thinking of themselves...

Cheers...Ziga

i'm suprised zig hasn't got a spare rad in the boot he's got just about everything else in there, in fact when TVR parts started up I thought zig was their mobile store!

I could setup a donation page on Just Zigging!

Seriously though if you need a hand give me a call.

Not unless you cut a service hatch in the front quarter or remove the cross support of fibreglass under the bonnet...eek

Hi Paul...Not sure that a Wedge will get up those?...I have axle stands but leaving her up on them where i live is NOT a good idea..Thanks for the offer..They might be useful if i take the spoiler off....scratchchin

I use those style ramps but jack the car up and slide the ramps in under the wheels!! unless you have a couple of wooden planks to lessen the approach angle. just make sure the rear wheels are chocked..

Yup this, I got some garden decking off cuts to lessen the angle, works a treat and gets the wedge up

A little bit of this laid on the floor to take the front edge of the ramp extensions:

And a couple of ramps and extensions and no problem getting the Wedge up in the air.

I do dream of a four poster though. sleep

Mark,

Don't forget I have those lifting ramps in the garage. They go higher than the normal ramps. I also have a set of ramps and a load of decking offcuts (don't ask) too. You're welcome to borrow. That said, it might be easier to do the job at the garage no?

Even with the bonnet off it has to come out from below. I found it easier to take the bonnet off, pods out and take the front spoiler off to give you room. Its a pain of a job and is heavier than you may think, especially if its got 10+ years of silt in it! The ally one with fans on I put in the Gredge is half the weight and 3 times as efficient yes

There is no easy fix with this you have to get the car up on axle stands, taller the better, and allow yourself the time to get it refurbed. With it all off and out, there will be loads of little jobs to do and things to polish fella!

I find caravan ramps perfect. Low enough to just drive onto and high enough to give you the space you need underneath.
