V6i Rubber Rocker Gaskets

Are rubber rocker gaskets available. for the. V6i Cologne engine other than from the Capri Owners Club, £38 +pp! I believe that 2.9i ones can be modified? Thanks John.

Hi John...Not sure about the 2.9 ones but i know there wasn't any available when i looked a couple of years ago..The cork ones are okay as long as the rocker covers have flat surfaces..There is a company called Ram gaskets who made me some for the blower conversion and they were able to make rocker cover gaskets although i never went that route....Cheers...Ziga

Thanks. Ziga, apparently the 2.9 ones can be modified by making an additional hole, the indentation being already formed in the rubber. However neither seem available. Fortunately I have a set of alloy rocker covers so distortion shouldn't be a problem. Cheers John.

Thought the 2.9 had one more hole than the 2.8?

Think I recall seeing these on Ebay some some ago when looking for something else (Seller may have been in America?), or it could have been gaskets for the earlier Essex V6 , either way I do recall they weren't cheap!

Thanks, you're right there is an additional hole on the 2.9 but it can be fitted. It might have been a US site With p&p the price would probably be compatable with the Capri Owners Club. Cheers.
