Anyone help with some part numbers?

The electric fan on my 1989 350i isn't working and I suspect either it's the fan itself or more probably the otter switch in the radiator.

In the evening this week I'll be checking the wiring and the fuses/relays.....but in the meantime does anyone know the part number for the otter switch and the fan?

It's the later "Nose Cone" radiator.

Number 7

Can't help with the part numbers, but if you bridge the otter switch wires together and the fan comes on (ignition on), then the otter switch is dead.

Ditto the above, you should be able to reach the spade terminals on the otter switch, pull em off and slide em together to confirm if it's the switch or fan, they are only line in and line out so won't blow a fuse unless of course a fuse is already blown in which case a multi meter should tell you if you've got feed to otter switch.

Thanks for the replies, as it happens I have just discovered that whilst the front lights work, they (at least the sidelights) flash when the indicators are on - instead of the indicators. At the same time none of it works if the lights are on................well, at least the headlight pods work so I suppose it could be worse.

I think the front spoiler and bumper will be coming off at the weekend so as I can get this and the fan sorted.
