Sorry for a down beat one guys.
Met Doug Ellwood at Autosport (David Gerald Ltd. - they own all the pre-Wedge jigs and parts business, and are now a main dealer). At very short notice he was asked to bid for the Wedge and 'S' spares last summer. He didn't get the bits and says the factory will not be supporting either models for spares in the future. Says at the turn of the year all the parts were in containers at the factory site UNPACKED and nobody knows who owns them. As someone who came into TVR via an 'S' I think you guys and the 'S Club - however many' need to campiagn to via the TVRCC and directly to get TVR to tell us what's happening. How can any owner of a discontinued model have confidence in the set up when this kind of c*** is going on (A Cerbera owner ie up next for dissing with the Griff/Chim bunch.

They are still treating us all like mushrooms - you know in the dark and under the sh1t!

Cheers for the info. My opinion is, wherever "the parts" are, its all about supply and demand anyway! Wedgers will manage ok as there aren't that many "unique" parts.
Its the speed 6 cars i feel sorry for when it's their turn!!!!!

I can't understand why TVR would want to undermine the ongoing preservation and restoration of older models. Surely our cars are a great advert for the quality and longevity of the product. Maybe the new owner of all the spares is busy going through and cataloguing all the bits befroe they offer them to us but I'm sure that with the contacts and skills within the TiV community, we can probably source or manufacture just about anything we need in the meantime.

I shouldn't worry, I got a hunch that the parts for the Wedge cars and for the 'S' cars will appear again pretty soon.......

well he seems to be doing ok so far.
Just cos you can't immediately get a part for a low volume car 20 years after it was made doesn't mean he's doing a bad job ...

I have it on Very Good Authority the Wedge and S stuff is "safe".

I do know they are NOT at the factory, and indeed have been transported to another location.

They HAVE been sold, but I have been asked to keep my mouth shut for the time being. (Before anyone puts 2 and 2 together and gets 5, ITS NOT PENINSULA either)

Edited to add, I spoke at length to one of the new owners of the parts, and, they are currently busy auditing all the moulds, jigs and other parts that were part of the "Job Lot".
They estimate it could take up to 6 weeks to get through all the parts, and will make it public what is happening after that.

Suffice to say, Dont sweat, there WILL be parts for the Wedges and S's available in the future

Excellent Mr. Vaughan, but why oh why do we have to go about getting information in this way. I thought the new 'MD' was trained a PR man, when will TVR learn the importance of keeping the enthusiasts, PH-ers, and the TVRCC happy and keep us updated regularly!

I think the problem is they are too busy looking towards the future, looking at their "New Car Sales forcasts" they donot see support for older models as being key to the future of TVR.
They just sell the moulds as a "going Concern", and recoup moneys spent on tooling / R&D
Better to get rid of all the parts... clean sheet as it were, and concentrate on the moneymakers .. ie the new cars

But it's the idiots like us who are the market for the new cars, now they have permanently scared off the 0-30mph London Porsche crowd!
