350 oil pressure

Evening all,

A bit of advice please. After about 15 minutes or so of idling, temp gauge just starts to register, the oil pressure drops from just under 3 on the gauge (vdo) to just under 1. Up to this point the engine runs smooth and quiet and only makes the 'pinking' noise after the warning light is on. It's quiet each time it's started from cold, only started for diagnostic purposes. Am I looking at a failing pump or have the bearings gone. Which is most likely? If the bearings have gone would they not be noisy all the time? According to the non functioning speedo the car has done about 80k and is due an oil change.

No, that's fine - as long as the pressure goes up when you raise the revs. You're lucky to see more than 3Bar on even a fit RV8.
