I have those and they are good and heavy, but I didn't think they did them anymore.

I could make one if i had one to work from..However they do look well made, They are a bit pricey as the material is under £30 for heavy duty black vinyl x 10 metres..Roughly £2 for the webbing and clips..Probably around 2 hours of labour...Might be something i may think of making..I will be making lightweight waterproof targa panel bags..Available in most colours..Here is one i made for the 280i roof panel..(350i to follow)..If anyone with a 280i wants to trial it then please give me a call..
The handle is a bit off centre as it was the prototype..Its double stitched for strength ..

Folds into a small size for storing in the drawstring waterproof bag...There is something else that comes with it but I'm not saying what it is yet..

I know I've said it before, but my car has a cockpit/hood cover that I made (well, OK, I worked out the shape and my dear old mother sewed it together, by oil lamp, her arthriticky old gnarly hands fumbling over the material as....sorry, where was I? Oh aye...) several years ago (about 15
) when my 390SE still used to live outside.
It's made from two layers of textiles: the outer layer resembles grey denim as it was a new cloth made for an American outdoor clothing company (but made in Mansfield!) that is light and dries quickly and the inner layer is the stuff that surgical gowns are made from - so it's waterproof - and bloodproof, of course
. So you have a cover that gets wet but dries quickly and does so while keeping the hood itself from getting wet
I reckon I should patent it...

I bought my half cover from Classic Additions, £35+ Vat nearly two years ago and still going strong, although the elastic retaining straps are getting a little stretched now. Its lightweight, keeps the water out, and folds up small to keep in the boot - great for shows etc.
Is it fitted or general size? I bought one last year from Halfrauds but its too big, quite baggy flaps in the wind.stevoj said:

I don't think it was size specific to the TVR but it fitted well and has pockets for the door mirrors and comes down the sides over the door rubbers. As I said the elastic is getting a bit saggy now (sound like Adams ex!)but could easily be shortened if needed
Well, you bloody jinxed it with this thread, didn't you...
I was putting the 390SE's rear underwing back on and had to reach into the boot to hold the bolts from above. My hand came out with bits of silver paper stuck to it and when I investigated there was a pile of shredded foil and another pile of shredded nuts or berries! So some furry critter has clearly been kipping in there, which I wouldn't mind so much but the b45+4rd thing had decided to have a bloody good chew on whatever was in there... which happened to be the cloth cover for my targa panel when stored in the boot

Like the cockpit cover this was put together by my mother, it uses the same lining (surgical gown!) but the outer is a cloth used for M&S ladies' summer business suits a few years back
So Zig, maybe papa will be needing a brand new bag, as it were
