Just sorting out my car and have noticed it doesn't have a jack.
What sort is it ? i'd imagine it a scissor type.
How does it and the spare wheel locate / fit into the boot ?
I'd appreciate a picture if possible.

What car? some had full size spare and others the space saver.

The jack on mine is a replacement but a cheap scissor with a poky foot to slip off the chassis.... Should be a fixing to hold the spare in, threaded rod, and the jack hid behind that.

Does not fit so well with the space saver. Think it sat OK on the full size on a previous motor.

Edit upon edit... the arm to wind the jack is folding as well.

Hi sorry forgot to add it's a 350se with a space saver.
I have to say that i wouldn't want to drive it far on that !!!!
I can see a nut bonded into the boot lip so the wheel must store vertically.

Yeah, sorry, my car is in the garage, get it back tomorrow. Never had much luck hiding the thing behind the space saver so it sort of flops around in the bag so I hide all the other crap behind there. Drove 70 miles on one once, that was interesting.

Hi mike...Sorry no pic at the minute but yes the space saver does bolt onto that bolt..I took mine out and just carry some tyre weld and national breakdown cover..

The jack is indeed a scissor type although as about as useful as a chocolate teapot..I guess they could be okay for changing a wheel...Maybe..Again mine is not in the boot..I actually carry a spare Wedge in my boot..people who have seen the zigboot know what I'm talking about...biggrin

Nothing else needed Mark, just two folding chairs to wait for the RAC in.

You might test the scissor jack. The one time I have to use mine it wouldn't work. It was OK with no load but refused to turn once some weight was on it. Fortunately I wasn’t far from home and my wife agreed to rescue me with my floor jack.

Also the jack and handle fit in a rubber/plastic bag that is rubber strapped to the side by the light.

The pics show the layout identical to my 350SE. As for the jack (pony) I would find one that sits in the corner as the picture shows that is a little more robust. I think Landrovers still have a scissor jack.
