Magic Welsh Rain!
Discussion
Took the 450 out for a bloody good blat today - in the rain! The rear tyres nearly overtook me on several occasions which was all good fun
By the time I got back, the dashboard lights had started to work (they were next on my list of things to fix), the petrol gauge started to work as did the rev counter. Even the seat adjuster had started to work properly without me doing anything! - magic rain must be!
I wonder if the next time I take it out will it fix my leaky exhaust problem?.

ps. Stopped on the way to Brecon to admire the view - The car!
What good looking cars these wedges truely are.

Glad to hear all went so well today Mike - good to hear the 450 is putting the Big Grin back - even in the wet!
Thanks for the Jpeg logos just trying to work out how to attach them to forum threads.
Weather permitting hope to see you on the 30th assuming all is well.
So far I think its just Jeff, Simon & myself plus you lets hope one or two more are up for it?

Glad to hear a few more stalwarts are still keen -
just back from a 45 mile round trip to Bridgnorth
V, frosty and a bit of ice on high ground but beautiful blue sky and bright sunlight
(top down of course - the dog thought I was mad and curled up in passenger footwell for most of the journey!) still despite a few moments the back end stayed behind the front and we had a most enjoyable time and hope next Sunday the weather is as good.
Will try and finalise a route with Jeff by Monday and attempt to post it on PH tomorrow

.Had another 'play' today, finished getting all of the rear lights working. Turned out to be a few blown lamps.
Also took off the gold grotty TVR badges ready for Leven to work their electroplating magic on them.
Noticed that the front underdam spoiler was loose and needs screwing or pop riveting on. Also noticed that the cooling fan now cuts in even when the engine is stone cold.
Wiggle the connectors on the rad and they stop. Time for some more magic rain me thinks.......
Mike B
ps. Jeff where you having yours serviced??.

Good to hear from Wyn & Dicky.
Mike it would appear the more you drive the 450 the more problems resolve themselves so hope the weather is as good next Sunday and we can all make it.
Sorry about the site email link Jeff - it always seems to need resetting at my end for some reason you should be able to contact me via steve@nautequipe.co.uk.
Proposed route for Wedge Round Wales
commence 10 am Sunday 30th
Layby at junction of A470 & A465 (heads of Valley Road)
Need a definate idea from Wyn as to actual location of the layby - dont forget I`m coming from Worcestershire!)
Follow A470 North to Brecon
Take B4520 & B4519 to Garth
Go West on A483 to Baulah then North East on B4358 to Newbridge on Wye
Then A470 & A4081 to Llandrindod Wells for lunch break?
Leave Llandrindod on A483 to Builth Wells and A470 to Bronillys
Take B4560 to Talgarth and Llangorse and at Bwlch take A40 to Llansantfaed - turn west to Talybont on Usk
then take local road to Pontsticill then back to start point.
Total distance 105 miles
Lets keep our fingers crossed re weather and I will wait to hear from you Jeff on Monday

Sounds like the switch is stuck on and wiggling is breaking the circuit. Or maybe there a bypass switch fitted which has been left on. Connector cleanup: wet'n'dry and vaseline for you my lad

Sometimes it works fine, every now and again the fans turn on by themselves, by wiggling the connectors on the rad switch they turn off. Must be shorting out someplace.
I will have to pull the leads off and add some new connectors - and a new bypass switch whilst I am at it. Should cure the problems.

If your coming from Worcester youll need to turn left at the A470 roundabout, towards Cardiff. Aprox 400 yds later there is another roundabout. Double back on yourself and the layby is on the left. I will be doing the same but I will be coming from the west.
Currently got everything crossed for good weather.

Thanks for Lay by location details Wyn - so Departure point is 10 am on the Northbound side of A470 from Cardiff approching the roundabout at the junction of the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road.
Looks like 6 cars at the moment then:-
Myself
Jeff M
Richard H (definate/maybe)
Mike B (the more you drive it the less goes wrong)
Wyn D (no pun intended)
& Simmon G
Any other Wedges are more than welcome.
Is everyone up for a bite to eat around Llandrindod?
As Jeff will need numbers for the Metropol (not Interpol) if we wish to reserve a table.
I`ve also found a place called the Drovers Arms at Howey about a mile South of Llandrindod which might be a reserve- anyone know it?
