Anyone know whether door window glass is supposed to be glued into the window runners (and the rubber in between? 'Cos mine looks like it might be and it doesn't want to come out...

Thanks Zig. Trying to get the doors off to refurb and eventually paint. The bible tells you how to do this if the windows are down but of course, they're not...

They are held/clamped into the rubber strip that sits in the channel. I have used silicon on mine as I got sick to death of them moving.

Thanks Jon. It's not that mine have to come out, and it will save me time down the track if I don't completely disassemble them, so I might have to change the approach on this one. I have some new door hinge bushes coming so maybe I just take the doors off, windows and all, and be very very careful with them...

Mine dropped into the door at last years Wedge Fest.

Finally got round to sorting it this year. Took the glass out, cleaned it. Cleaned the runner channel, and added some black silicone for good measure.

Lubed up all the channels with silicon lube. Windows have never worked smoother + rattle free.
