To all,
Well my brake pad replacement project has not migrated into a caliper replacement and recently a full shock / spring replacement. Having fun but not spending much time driving at the moment.

My question is around tires..

For a 280i what are the best tires to get, what size should i look for and does anyone know of any cheap places to get online. ?

cheers
Colin

Micheldever seem well-recommended. They're in Hampshire.

Apparently it's Mitchell Devver, not Deever but my brother could be winding me up.

What size wheels are on the car? and how much did you want to spend? These factors may narrow the options down somewhat.

I can also recommend Michedever - been going there for many years and they are certainly the cheapest within 100 miles of Oxford.

I got a set of 14" wheels in my shed, with unworn new tyres on them. (date code 12/03). Sadly they don;t clear the calipers on my 350i, so my plans for a set of winter wheels got skuppered.

I'd reccommend the Uniroyal 540, I run'em on my 350 ( 205/60 15") and although the dry grip isn't as good as the Toyo's etc ( although still decent) but the wet grip is ruddy superb and they're only 50 quid a corner, slightly softer sidewall construction means a looser steering feel but an improved ride.
