Finally things are progressing but still some long weeks ahead. Need to get all paperwork in order to get this beauty/beast registered on Belgian license plates, but in the meantime will have some minor works carried out (fit missing fog lights, have run smoothly on idle).

Already looking forward to drive this machine ...

+ Chassis has been restored somewhere down the line, so completely rust-free and apart from some small spots still in protective lacquer.
+ New dampers & shocks.
+ Interior trim dirty but in very good condition apart from dashboard veneer and front seats.
+ Loud V8.
+ Mechanically fine, rust-free exhaust.
+ Adjustable engine management which I'm not going to fiddle with.

- Has been sat in (dry) storage for 10+ years, so obviously hasn't run for a while. No real issue but some things could pop up?
- Bodywork is a bit patchy, some scratches here & there.
- Paintjob fairly ok, but obviously not shiny as new.
- Front seats worn but will have them refurbished.
- Some small things like hinges & dashboard don't look new at all.

First thing I'll do when it's delivered is have a long drive, and after that do a thorough clean & polish to see how much shine I can still get out of the body. Aim is to keep this one in good mechanical condition, certainly refurb the front seats, maybe the dashboard and run it for a few years with a big grin on my face. Ideally it should be restored to it's former glory (mainly bodywork and refurbishing small parts), but as I'm not able to work on the car myself, that'll be a job for the next owner later on, when I decide I'm ready to own a Tuscan.

The coupes were the first wedges I ever saw and always liked them and that looks nice.

The first owner of this car was a neighbour of mine. I never saw the car road legal, but by the time I first saw it he had covered about 60k miles in it over about 6 years. He had some bodywork done after a run in with a coach at the Sun in the Sands roundabout in London but made the mistake of covering the car before the paint was dry. He sorted out the resulting mess with a home respray in my garden! Later an incident with a cyclist took out the windscreen and the car became dormant. I lost touch with it in the late nineties. I think the engine had some modifications including a fast action throttle that wore out the butterfly spindle. It sounded great with the twin exhaust system, perhaps better than later TVRs. More offshore powerboat than muscle car.Good to see it up and running again. Good luck with that paint though!

Great bit of early history..Sounds so beautiful.."Sun in the sands"..."Where you going for your holidays Fred"..."Sun in the sands"....If you are there for more than 1 night you are either dead...Or you are dead...Its at the bottom of shooters hill...Blah blah blah...
I heard someone mention the "Dover patrol" the other day..Now you would think this is some kind of naval security service...Nope...It was a pub that replicated a wild west saloon bar in the mid 1980's..I know the area very well and a lot of my mis-spent youth was around there...

Don't ever remember seeing but its nice to see it being given a new lease of life ...smile

This car car is simply lucky, by meeting an owner like Pieter, taking good care of it !

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and the missus at Zolder; last Friday, mate !

Looking forward to see her in the flesh (the car, that is !)

Cool story, car has a lot of history as it seems (first owner's name is on a plaque on the dashboard) and likes to run into things :-) I'll do my best to change that. Engine still has an aftermarket programmable ECU unit fitted, apart from that seems standard. Can confirm that it's still properly loud as it should be. Paint is something I can live with, ideally car needs minor bodywork done first and a full respray later on. But I'll stick with a good clean & polish - as said my plan is to enjoy this machine for a while and pass it on to a next owner who hopefully has the time & skills to make this car look nice again.

Ah yes, Graham Anderton! Do mail me when you decide to sell on. I rather fancied this in yellow!
