1. Adjust the rear exhaust box mounting so the tail pipe points out the hole where it should, which involves bodging the bodge that I bodged many years ago to bodge the original bodge that I'd bodged after a large stone hit the silencer. Snap off seized fixing bolts, followed by use of angle grinder and drill to make new fixing - done.
2. Fit and adjust new FPR - done, cheers Keith. (the old girl goes like a stabbed rat).
3. Yearly service - done
4. Wax and polish - done.
5. Touch up the chassis with Epoxy paint where the powder coating has flaked a bit - done.
6. Tighten exhaust manifold which has been blowing - done.
7. Seats reupholstered and fit new carpets - postponed, not enough time or money
8. Fill with fuel and give her a test thrashing - done.
. ..... .....I'm sure there's something else ?
Holy st the MOT ! Ran out 2 weeks ago ! Quick phone call to my good friend at local garage, blast over, sailed through with flying colours.
9. MOT - done
10. Drink beer - done
Bring on The Fest, Roar on.

5. Fill with fuel.

6. Halfway to Ettington...fill with fuel again.

So Wedge in garage for brake upgrade and stuck thermostat bolt. Just gave them a call to ensure okay to collect and firstly the brake upgrade kit didn't come with the correct rear lock nuts for the back of the hub and secondly they have managed to snap the bloody bolt on the thermostat, despite me saying it was tight anhjd needed some heat to ease it.

Just spoke to brake kit supplier and they admitted that they were aware that the Granada Mk 2 kit has changed but they forgot to update the Wedge kit with the appropriate bits and pieces. Not impressed.

Broken bolt has eventually been drilled out and heli-coiled and a stud screwed in instead but car not available until tomorrow, but I'm away all bloody day and not available to collect it in the evening.

All getting a bit tight and annoying.

This is why i left mine alone...I would of left the thermostat mate as there is ALWAYS the possibility of a bolt shearing or even worse the housing cracking...Hope you get it sorted mate...Ziga

Drilling out was probably more work than it was worth - with the V8 block the first option is to weld a bar onto the bolt, this will then free it and no need for helicoiling either.

Hope you get it sorted Keith, it won't be the same following a BMW, it doesn't pop and bang as much! Seriously though, if you think I can help with anything give me a shout.
