Front suspension
Discussion
Hi Mate...As Chris say's...The upper & Lower ball joints are Ford Cortina mk4-5..Check the new against the old as there is apparently two types..Although i ordered mine for a cortina mk4-5 and had no problems.
The calipers are Ford Granada mk2 2.8i...The "i" is important...Someone recently bought a caliper seal kit so hopefully might have the part number ..If so then it should be added to the "Wedge parts list".
Pads are down to choice...I have green stuff but they are a soft compound so cause a lot of dust on the wheels but do not squeal...

I believe that the front calipers are not necessarily 2.8i; the vented disc ones are 2.8i but the non-vented ones (which my '86 350i has) are granada 2.0/2.3/diesel discs/calipers. The pads are different too. BiggRed stock both types of seal kit; they'll ask you the piston diameter but the smaller ones are the non vented type.
And beware of ebay plasticene ball joints; I bought some and was disgusted with the quality - I wouldn't dare put ungraded bolts onto my suspension, and the machining grooves in stressed areas were horrific. There are tales about of ball joints snapping. QH ones are OK; I suspect anything that is branded as something familiar should do the job.

Whoops...Thats right about the calipers...I have spacers in my original calipers so that the vented disc can be fitted...That specifies the Granada estate 2.8i rear disc's for the front of my 350i..And beware of ebay plasticene ball joints; I bought some and was disgusted with the quality - I wouldn't dare put ungraded bolts onto my suspension, and the machining grooves in stressed areas were horrific.
