Morning all.

Went for a spin over the weekend, came back to find the rear NS light lens has nearly fallen off !!

seems to be quite loose and only held on by mastic.
Does anyone know how they were attached - are there any clips etc...
Will be looking to fix before next weekend as have another drive planned and dont want it to fall off.

Cheers
Dom

I did push it back in before taking these pictures but there was prob a 4-3mm gap along the top edge

On my car there are 2 spring clips fitted on the light unit (inside) to secure/ locate It

Yep, clips in the rear, they are not hi tec. Very carefully remove old mastic and re apply new, get some good stuff from a local factors or on line. Drop off the interior lining and it is all there in its glory.

Funnily enough the mastic on my N/S rear light has now given up - wondered why the boot carpet was damp after washing the car, and now I know. Must be the intense heat we've been having lately.

Cheers guys for the responses..

I'll have a look over the next few days and report back.
It could be the heat we've been having.. however, my drive yesterday included driving round some cobbled roads so that shakedown probably didnt help hehe

My mate in the passenger seat made the comment though that my 350i handled them better and felt less rickety than his DAX Cobra over the same stretch !! Made me feel happy wink

I struggled with the clips, guess I was afraid of forcing and risking braking the unit, especially in view of how rare they are. Used a pretty high tech solution as a safeguard and secured from inside the boot space with a bungee so it can't fall off. Bit rubbish I know, but you can't see it.
