2.8i clutch slave cylinder bracket
Discussion
I'm converting from automatic to manual and was hoping someone has a picture of the clutch slave cylinder bracket so I can make one, as I cannot find one for sale.
Or has anyone used the Wilwood pull type cylinder from Rally design ? http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?prod...
This is the last thing needed and I can then get engine/ gearbox back in the car.
Thanks

Sorry if that wasn't clear,
I meant all Ford gearboxes are cable - which means any hydraulic setup must have some kind of non_Ford adaptor bracket ...... and it must bolt in somehow.....
I think most of the US 2.8s are hydraulic,(LHD ones) but most RHD 2.8 are cable - history books say very original cars had a quite weird slave cylinder, which got ditched for a cable setup. Then later export ones went hydraulic (perhaps because TVR couldn't find a cable which fitted ???)
So it's do-able but was suggesting it might be easier to mod the PEDAL box to cable.....
(edited as display was messed up)

do you have a pic of it fitted ?
Unfortunately not but out of site behind the slave cylinder the bracket has a sort of hook bent into it that lips around the hole in the bellhousing and the front end is secured with a bolt through that hole and the now redundant clutch cable hole. RCK974X said:
Cyl looks just like the 'standard' (sort of) BL/Triumph/Landie slave cyl ???
You got it
I had an issue with the s3 I'm working on that has the same bracket set up as pictured. The slave is a standard Landy one part number on the s3 parts list (mine cost about £14), but I couldn't find the bracket and ended up buying one from Douglas Valley. The bracket cost me £110, as no one has any! Then what always happens after you buy one you find the missing one! Because of the cost I got my brother in law who is an engineer to take some measurements, there are several bends and some very small deflections but could be made, but as a one off not sure how long it would take. Alternatively if you are really stuck happy to sell my spare., the cash would cover the new headlights I need for an MOT!

Ahhhh !! Thanks, with that extra info it all makes sense - I couldn't see how that bracket was rigid enough to 'push' properly, especially on only one bolt. But with bracket clipped in to back of slot to take main load/push, and then bolted through clutch hole......Yep....Neat.
A LOT neater than the horrible cobbled up mess in the Wedge 'cable' pedal box, that's for sure.
One more thing.............
There is a "keyhole" shaped hole in the clutch arm to accept a cable, TVR left it as it was but it chews up the end of the pushrod. Picture below is a repaired pushrod and modified release arm. Simply a nut brazed on then ground out to create a "socket" to receive the pushrod "ball"
