I don't know about you, but I have become quite twitchy about something going wrong. Recently, the water pump started leaking - seals had gone. Fixed.
Then I was getting a grumbling sound from the exhaust, almost as if it was about to drop off. Especially as it runs under the passenger seat and on the very rare occasion that my missus ventured for a ride, she was having kittens on top of her usual nervousness.
No problem this time. There was a tiny stone caught between the exhaust and the chassis causing all that vibration. It is quite tight in there, but the exhaust is absolutely solid.
Now I can get back to driving it properly.
Such is fettling life with a Wedge.

I think my 3 months of issues with the 350i and ongoing work with the 390SE are documented sufficiently and people are probably bored stiff of my posts by now!Just an update - 350i is still going strong and refurbished radiator, new Griff otter switch, new oil cooler and pukka high pressure oil hoses dropped off at the garage tonight for the 390SE - watch this space.
The other day I hit a bad dip in the road and grounded hard (the rugby-playing son in the car didn't help)
I did check it and it looked/felt solid.
Since then I thought the exhaust has been making funny noises and sounds like a few bits dropped off! But it still goes, stops and goes round corners, so keep driving...
Then the internal clip securing the indicator repeater dropped off, lleaving the repeater hanging out of the wing. So I cut a strip of bubble wrap, and taped it to the repeater, so it was just too big for the hole, then stuffed it in. Works a treat! In fact it's more secure than the original.

Every time i drive mine I'm waiting for something to fall off....
Seriously though i think the best time for "Twitching" is MOT time...I fixed the fog light illumination almost the same week as they told me last year..Turn it on at the MOT this year and it don't bloomin work! ...All year round i regularly clean, Lube & operate the headlights and they work...EVERY time...MOT time...One decides not to come up...To the amusement of the MOT inspector i might add...Thankfully the other popped up a couple of seconds after.....

Adam, how much bubble wrap have you got holding that Wedge together? I am begining to understand why they call it the Wedge, because everything is wedged in. Those side repeaters are ford transit and fiesta ones. They are easy and cheap to buy on the bay. Tony. TCB.
