Today I fitted a new gear knob. Well, It's not actually new, but it's one I've had in the garage for a long time but couldn't use because of those useless grub screws. However, once again, Leigh came to the rescue. I sent him my wooden knob and he blocked the underneath and tapped new threads in for me at 5/16 UNC, which is the Wedge gear stick thread size. Now fitted on the car and it looks cool. Cheers to Leigh. You've done a perfect job mate and no more messing about with them grub screws.

I prefer mine the other way round, but looks like it fitted well.

I can now make most things out of ali, or most other materials so give me a shout if you need anything.

Hi Leigh. Yes it fitted really well and you've done a fine job. Now,you've got me thinking about which way round I should have it. When this knob came to me, it was on another TVR, badly fitted, but was fitted this way round. A lot of people have it facing the other way, so what I'll do is use it as it is for a while, then turn it round and try it the other way and see which is the most appealing. The beauty of having the threaded fitting is I can turn it round in seconds, and once the nut is tightened on, it's secure and won't move out of position. I'm very pleased. Thanks again.
