Interesting - so about £400-£500 - might be an alternative to a PAS rack if you can't get it refurbished.

The only disadvantage is that you don't get the reduction in lock-lock turns of the steering wheel.

The big guys in the DTEC use a Electric / hydraulic hybrid system that's give the best of both worlds, but is expensive. I think str8six do them. have a search in DTEC forum or ask there for more info.
