hi all,
has anyone upgraded there injectors?if so what to and what was the result?
the other option is i have been offered a good aftermarket set from a griff, i know they wont fit as is but has enyone looked at or tried to fit a later fuel rail from a serp to a pre-serp? would it fit? im being lazy, easier to ask than work it out....
just a thought
the SX is going great guns with the new ecu but a bit more ooomph is always welcome
cheers

All the injectors have a part number on the side so you can identify them. My SEAC has jag injectors and jag AFM; I don't know if the ECU is modified to suit them.
The later hotwire injectors do not fit the earlier flapper intake manifold; the flapper injectors have a flat rubber seal that is clamped axially and the hotwire injectors have a radial O-ring. I was told when I megasquirted my 350i engine that I could put hotwire injectors in a flapper manifold; that was not the case. Just one of the problems I had... I had to swap the whole manifold and contend with different water/air connections.
Most injectors off later vehicles are the hotwire type so you can choose your flow rate from info available on the net; I know megasquirt can drive them and I would assume other ECUs can as well. However if your duty cycle at max power/torque is less than 100% at a decent AFR then bigger injectors wouldn't give you anything anyway; and would probably mess up your idle.

I mentioned to Adam that he could have my old injectors 28lb Bosch Injectors that replaced my old Lucas green band ones....if they fitted. The Bosch have a far better spray pattern than the green bands..so I assumed they would have a far, far better spray pattern that the injectors in his engine. Current duty cycle is well within limits..
It seems he'd need a new manifold as the current one won't allow the 14.5mm o-ring'd Bosch injectors to sit properly..and on course a new fuel rail.
I was hoping there was an easier way to make them fit..looks like there's quite a lot of updating.
