Worth doing on an NCK 3.9? Albeit now a 3948cc... and if so, what to pay for the full TP setup? £250? £500? £1000?

Answers on a bankers' draft...

One went for about £1500 on ebay last year, which seems silly money to me. I know they're rare, but there's not *that* much to them.

Far better off fitting ACT's stuff, the most effective mod is the larger & shorter trumpet base. Alternativly you try just cutting down the existing trumpets by 25mm

There'a a full TP system on Ebay, ending tonight. Start bid is £500 but no takers yet.
I did read somewhere that Rover created a special cam profile for the twin plenum Vitesse that can't be had for love or money....

Take a look at this ACT page, second item down should suit you sir!

www.actproducts.co.uk/multithrottle.php

If you do buy perhaps I should claim a commission

Nice! But I was hoping for improvements on the (relative) cheap...

Eek, would agree that is quite pricey.

I may try Matt's modification to the trumpets while I have mine in bits. Do you lose any torque etc or does it just allow the engine to breathe more freely?

Hmmm. The system on Ebay failed to attract any bids (start bid was £500, mind) so I emailed the seller with an offer.
I'm not holding my breath... even though his description failed to mention whether he even knew if it worked, also there are obviously a few bits missing etc etc... hell of a chance at half a K.

Have seen this done also but welded so that both inlets are on the same side - with a y piece you can then re-use existing AFM and filter set up (although this particular 400rwhp 5 litre SD1 used a Haltech with a MAP sensor). Not too difficult to make a custom link between the butterfly's and away you go for much less than the money being asked for the genuine items.

Wedg1e,

How you doin' ?

Have a look at the DJE Rover V8 Website, there is a piccy of a twin inlet plenum on their induction components page. Could be worth giving them a ring ?

Hope this helps.

Any meetings coming up soon ?

Regards

Hi Nige: there is a get-together tonight at Shafto's (see NE regional list) but I don't think many are going. Next up is the Cobweb run on March 6th...

Wedg1e,

Oops missed the meet last night and I will miss the cobweb run too as I am already prebooked on a family shindig. Damn the relatives !!!

Will try for next meet, but the 450 is having some work done on her next month, so we will see.

Regards
