Gents, How are you all today, or this evening in the UK.
Has any one tried or figured out how to take a swollen saggy sun visor and flatten it back out? Or know what the donor car?

Hi Charlie...I believe they were Ford Capri...Although i tried some Capri ones and they were way too loose and flapped about like a baby penguin...So i re-foamed and covered mine in leather...

I can refurb them in vinyl also...Shame I'm not local to you but it shouldn't be a difficult task for any competent trimmer...I used 2 x 3mm closed cell foam per unit...There needs to be two halves to one...Hope this helps...Ziga

If anyone is interested, I have a spare set that would need refurbishing - Free if you collect from the Herts/Beds border in your TVR.

Ziga,
would you happen to have a picture of the seams on yours?

You don't see them.....whistle

To be honest with you mine are glued as i couldn't find my leather hand stitching needles so might not look so desirable...smile...The vinyl glue's and seals better, Especially when heated and crimped...There are only two ways of getting the frames and foam into the new pocket and one of them will be noticeable on the side and thats why i seal the backs.

I will take a pic but the seams are not visible when up on a DHC...I would be more particular with a set for the FHC.....Actually thanks for reminding me that i need to buy some proper hand stitching leather needles....

Cheers

Hi FairfieldSteve

I would really like your spare sun visors as I don't have any, but my car is in 1000 pieces at the moment. Would you be prepared to post them? Happy to buy the visors and pay for postage.

Thanks

Pete

Good Morning Pete,

I would be happy to post them to you, they will need refurbishing though. I am not looking for any money for them.
Please may you send me an email with your address and I'll get it sorted by the weekend. stevekirk1985@gmail.com

Cheers,
Steve

Hi guys - Thanks very much for the offer to recover the sun visors for me Mr Zigazaga (Mark?), but I've yet to decide on the colour for the interior (and the exterior for that matter), so Steve is sending them straight to me. I'm hoping to get some inspiration for colour combinations at the BBWF in the July. Really looking forward to seeing all the Wedges and meeting some of you! I'll probably be in my other Winterbottom Wedge (with a Lotus badge on it!).
