Out for a splendid spin through the borders and i sprung a leak. Blast.
I'll go to the pub instead.
I did take a nice video with my new phone though. I'll put it on utube when i get a pint down my disappointed neck.

Marcus...That jubilee clip is far too tight on a silicone hose...Its okay on a normal OEM rubber but silicone is a different thing...Plus also with silicone you must be sure to put the clip as near to the end as possible to avoid flaring of the hose..Which is visible on yours...If you have screwed the clip too tight then all it will do is cut the hose!.
With silicone you need to watch the clip and how much it sinks in to the silicone...Normally its about a 1mm for a good seal.

I learnt this but with fuel hose...Trust me coming out from the cashier at a petrol station to see a 10ft puddle of fuel around the car is not good...Even worst is then having to drive 12 miles leaving a visible trail of fuel...I remember seeing cartoons like this but i do believe if someone had lit the trail then i would of been fugged no matter how fast i drove...When i finally got to the garage we popped Delilah up in the air mainly to catch some of the £40 worth of fuel id just put in....We caught around a pint...It worked out i was getting 1.34 miles to the gallon...Which is actually less than Apollo 13... eek

Yeah that clip is a bit of a school boy error isnt it. A first month apprentice would have done better.
Left a nice trail of water though. Not as exciting as fuel though!

Could I also suggest that you invest in some decent hose clips - JCS are my preference - stainless ideally. The type with the drive slots all the way through the band are really nasty IMHO.Hope you get it sorted though.

Yes No.7
Good point, they are rather shabby arent they.
I'll get some for next weekend and replace the whole lot. I've a spare hose, and enough on the burst one to cut it down, so i'll back impersonating Toad of Toad Hall by easter, toot toot.
