Hi all .Got a chap coming around mid week .To try and lift engine to get at broken manifold stud .i think he will disconnect prop and undo gearbox mounts .Will he have to remove the gearstick .Thanks Mike 350

I wouldn't have thought so. I think the top of the gearbox hitting the chassis will be the limiting factor in how high you can get. Hope it's enough for you.

I will try and take some tommorow night . Not good with computers .One stud is doable the one that's out of reach is on the bottom . 3 rd one in from the front.The guy getting the studs out has done Tvr before..just want to get the car back on the road Thanks all Mike

You sure you can't access it through the wheelarch (with the wheel off, obviously)...?

Other option is to whip the heads off, does not harm to fit new gaskets if they have never been changed.

Thanks all for your replies .Mate came around tonight .Undid both engine mounts .Then we were able to lift the engine for the guy to drill out the difficult stud .He is coming Friday .Hope fully back on the road next mounth if all goes well.Thanks Mike
