Repalacement of Top & Bottom Front Ball Joints
Discussion
Hi John
It's been 3 years since I replaced mine. But I think you are correct, just keep a jack under it. I did compress the spring using a home made compressor as I wanted the shocks out at the same time. Center punch and drill should sort the rivets without too much trouble.

Karl.

I would use a centre punch and drill. If you slip with the grinder, you could damage the arm. Slower, but lower risk.
If it were me, I would put wooden blocks under chassis at arm mounting, and probably an axle stand under the suspension.
But then, I've had a couple of near misses with jacks I won't ever forget ...

Drill might be a little more precise. Can you remember Karl if the top ball joints are originally riveted in please? Thanks. J C.
