I'm not sure what to do - so thought I'd ask around...

Off for a few days break next week, I have a flight that leaves at the crack of dawn, so cannot get a train in time -- I could get a taxi but that'll cost a bit - I'm just not sure how safe the car parks are at the airports. Would a wedge be safe parked out in the open (I have left my car outside my house for weeks on end with no probs) there is an alarm / immobiliser - and it'll have a crook-lok thingy on it... I know I'm being paranoid - but has anyone else left their pride n joy ??

Patrick,

I might have a cunning plan if you find you dont want to leave the car at the airport. It depends on which airport you are using and when exactly you are going however. Email me if you dont want to post it.

Depends if you want some A££hole in a company vectra to take the front off!

Personally I wouldn't leave it.

Thanks for your help/advice guys - must admit - leaving the wedge there was the final option, look forward to hearing from cerbyt & skyrocketship..for their cunning plans sounds like a Blackadder script

Worth a try to see if the airport has a surveilled and secure or lock carpark.
Major airports do have them, in the same carpark or close by.

Must admit as much as I love my Wedges, if it came to it, I would leave it - life is for living

Agreed - a taxi it is - despite the generous offers - it'll be much simpler in the long run (and on my neighbours as I've gotta get up at 04:45!) to be chauffered there n back...

We normally do the taxi route, but if you leave it at a secure car park, not one of the multi storey ones, it should be safe and you get a ride back to the airport in luxury!

This may or may not be relevant but last time I flew of of Gatwick I left the Eurobox at the main dealer in the area for a service, they took me to the airport and gave me I got a lift back! The real benefit was secure, free parking and I didn't miss the car! £50 quid saved in parking.

There is a certain independent TVR dealer near to the airport who may be worth asking if they can help if your flying out of Gatwick.

I leave mine at the airport all the time - Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Gatwick, Luton, and Stanstead. No problems in the past three years. BUT, mine's probably not as smooth as yours AND who knows what tomorow may bring.

I left my 280i drophead at Basel Airport last summer for 4 days when we had to return to the UK mid France/German tour, it was fine, but it was Switzerland......
