For all you non Facebook peeps I thought I'd share the quick video from earlier today of the 420SE being tweaked on the rollers

Just an alteration to the FPR and all was well

287bhp, which weirdly was exactly the same as the last 420SE but without spending the money on the ecu / Afm......so really happy

Nice. Shame you couldn't have posted the pics the right way up mind... wink

I suppose it's also worth noting, was that quoted flywheel numbers? Would much prefer to see rwhp figures. The fudge factor most dyno's run to make up and guess the flywheel figure is often rather liberal.

Also is that a corrected SAE/DIN figure or is it what a the dyno would call an STD figure, just being whatever the car is making now (meaning it could be high or low based on ambient temp, humidity, etc.)

Glen, which rolling road did you use? How did you find them? 287bhp sounds a bloody good figure. Cheers.

Really pleased, I knew she felt quick but you never know until you put it on the rollers

My main reason for doing it was to check the fuelling was not leaning out .......which it was, so being able to increase the FPR (the original weber unit is adjustable) to make sure she was safe to give it the beans when out and about

We also did a test without the air filter to see if that was not causing any restrictions. It wasn't so happy my filter is rated at 280+ bhp :-)

See you changed the wheels Glenn! those look like the ones you had on the humbug 350i.

They are exactly the same as the old wedge but with semi slick 225 track tyres (very sticky)

Got them as a temporary set whilst I hunted for some 16" rims

Found a new set of speed 8 alloys so will be going as soon as I sort tyres

Jules up at kits and classics has been doing RR tuning for a very long time, and he does not inflate his figures if anything he may even under read.
Glad it finally got on a rolling road, to check the fueling, as this is what I recommended after I rebuilt the engine, for the previous owner.
