These look superb!
Going to be putting the original wheels back on my 350i soon - a set of these would really finish it off.
Is it possible to obtain a set?

Send my an email or messenger me via FB, I make them from billet aluminum tube, but they still take quite a while to make them.Going to be putting the original wheels back on my 350i soon - a set of these would really finish it off.

I make the snap rings from treated steel so they should not rust, apart from a little on the cut ends, but the wheels should be powder coated, but a tiny bit of grease, Vaseline or copper slip should help.
Would like to see a O-ring version I've only seen plastic clipped versions one round 350 and angled one 280 see pic below.

The original Telcast wheel centRES used O-rings instead of spring clips.
A smear of silicon grease should help stop them fusing to the wheels.
are you talking about the very early domed wheels on the 280 (not the lattice) if so these had a much deeper insert and very little sticking out, the 350's are very shallow so that design would not work.A smear of silicon grease should help stop them fusing to the wheels.

Yes, the early wheels. They weighed a bloody ton, there was that much alloy in them!Fair point on the later centres not being so far inset.
An alternative (though more 'engineered'
) way of doing it might be some form of collet arrangement where you screw something from inside the wheel to expand the centre and make it grip the wheel... but would probably add more weight and seize anyway...Gassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
