Good evening to all. What is the normal temp a V8 should run at??? took GYPO out today and on the way home it was traffic lights most of the way home but she got upto 85- 90 Deg C. Is this running hot.
But god did it sound good.
Plus it " pinked" when in lowgears and the foot went hard down, maybe the timing is out slightly, apart from that the higher rev range she growls nicely, I am thinking maybe vacuum pipe, need to check when its light.

Thanks for letting me know about the temp. I will try the super unleaded and see how it goes. Got to admit as well that changing the oil pipe from the filter was a bit of a struggle, My engine is reading about 25- 30 lbs at about 3000rpm is this normal as well??

Hi mate...All sounds healthy...As said try some super or V-power 95ron is no good..97+...Also check the timing you may need to retard it a bit..You want anything between 4-6 degrees...Don't always believe what the timing marks say as they can be out by loads...The best way is to adjust on the move...Always do it once the car is up to temp...Try the higher octane fuel first...But if the timing is 8 or 10 then you would be best dropping down a bit.

Plugs can make it pink as well...5 is too hot ..7 is too cool...6 is perfect.
