Fuel tank float gasket

Looks like the fuel tank float gasket on my 1984 280i is leaking...Is this an excruciatingly difficult part to get hold of or can I buy one/get one made?

might need the float assembly too as the gauge has not worked since I had a bingle a couple of years ago.

Sheet of cork, craft knife, smear of Hermetite, job done. Try your local engineers' suppliers for cork gasket...
